Every day throughout the year 8.00am - 5.00pm (8.00am - 8.00pm 1 April to 30 September). Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Full disabled access. Street parking nearby. Welcome Point with displays outlining the history of the Gardens, including their restoration. Education Centre created in a World War II air raid shelter, for school and community use. Castle Gardens is a public park gifted to Lisburn at the beginning of the 20th Century by Lady Wallace's heir, Sir John Murray Scott. Once the site of Lisburn Castle, a 17th Century fortified manor house built by the Conways who were landlords of Lisburn, the park has been recently restored with its garden terraces laid out in the 1650s, by Lisburn City Council with grant aid from the Heritage Lottery Fund. |
