In 1760 Wills Hill built a market house (the Central Arcade block) with the aim of attracting linen manufacturers to the area. In 1810 the North and South Wings were added. The South Wing was used as an open market hall and the North Wing housed a courtroom, which was operational until 1986 and now houses a display on the Irish Legal System.

Hillsborough Tourist Information Centre is located in the building, which is also used for craft fairs, book fairs, art exhibitions, conferences and wedding receptions.
