Summary
The race to become the new Miss Northern Ireland heats up at Drumbo Park Greyhound Stadium when a bevy of beauties compete to be first out of the traps for a place in the final.
The two legged contestants are being encouraged to sign up for the May 11 heat which will see two winners, Miss Drumbo Park and Miss Lisburn City qualify for the grand finale on June 13.
For the first time Drumbo Park has joined forces with the Alison Campbell Agency to host a heat of Miss Northern Ireland and it is set to be one of the highlights of this year’s event.
Drumbo Park General Manager Neil Redmond is looking forward to welcoming the glamorous participants. "We are used to a different type of contest at Drumbo Park but it will be just as competitive as our race nights," he said.
Event organiser, Alison Campbell was impressed by the facilities at Drumbo Park: "It’s a fabulous venue. It is the first time we have held a heat here and the facilities are excellent. It will be a fantastic evening."
Councillor Jenny Palmer, Chair of the Economic Development Committee of Lisburn City Council, which is co-sponsoring the event added: "Drumbo Park is a superb entertainment venue and May 11 is certain to be one of the most memorable evenings in this year’s Miss Northern Ireland contest."
Meanwhile, the current Miss Northern Ireland Lori Moore was on the right track when she visited Drumbo Park Greyhound Stadium to view the facilities. Lori encountered four legged Lady, a regular of the exciting race meetings that take place at the venue every Thursday to Saturday.
"Lady is lovely and she’s a real natural in front of the cameras. I can’t wait to return next month to help pick the winner of Miss Drumbo Park!" she said.
