Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum |
Open: All year Mon-Sat 9.30am - 5.00pm (excluding certain Bank Holidays) A few minutes walk from public car parks, rail and bus station. Full disabled access. This award-winning museum in Lisburn's 17th century Market House offers a perfect outing, which brings the history of linen to life. Visitors can see the heritage of craft skills in the daily demonstrations of spinning and hand loom weaving and can admire the treasures of costume and damask linen. There is also a varied exhibition programme on topics of local history and the arts - something for everyone to enjoy. For your souvenirs, the museum shop offers a wide range of craft goods and books at prices to suit pockets as well as an opportunity to buy fine quality Irish linen especially the damask table linen with our own 'flax flower' design. Complete your visit by relaxing in Café Crommelin.
