Summary
William Caufield is now without any doubt one of Northern Ireland’s best loved and busiest comedians.
With a keen eye and ear for all things that makes us laugh and his home grown style of humour William has endeared himself across all the generations not only here in Northern Ireland but wherever he goes.
From a small boy William was hooked on the mimicry and mastery of James Young and when he started to perform as a comic in his own firht the similarities in delivery and style were evident, thus the tribute show “Our Jimmy”was born;the show has gone from strength to strength.
The BBC Northern Ireland filmed a Christmas special, which turned out to be the highest rated show of all time.
The show is kept fresh by William by adding new and contemporary material written in the style of James Young.
William has also starred in his own BBC1 Northern Ireland TV series ‘Our William’.Perhaps it is because of his comedy take on our lives here or simply because he is very much one of us – wahtever the reason, when he takes to the stage laughter is very soon to ensure. With his casual yet comic observations of everyday life and his crafted storytelling William is expceptionally funny to watch and hear.
Radio and TV are just a small part of what William does.He is the star of Pantomime in the Millennium Forum in Londonderry as well as a consummat After Dinner Speaker both in Ireland and the UK.
William was born in Lurgan,Co.Armagh but now lives in Bangor Co.Down.
Come and join in with the craic with William and his guests Susan McCann,Ray Lynam,Boxcar Brian,Simon Peters and Hilly Billy Willy.
